For the time being, Cristiano Ronaldo won’t have any more European A-listers join him in Riyadh.
Since FIFA has prohibited Al-Nassr from adding new players, Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be able to welcome any new teammates anytime soon.
Journalist Ben Jacobs for CBS Sports claims that Al-Nassr’s failure to pay Leicester City £390,000 in performance-related add-ons for Nigerian attacker Ahmed Musa is the reason for the ban.

Musa left Leicester City for Al-Nassr in the summer of 2018 for about £14 million, and in 62 appearances for the Saudi team, he scored 11 goals and contributed 14 assists. Musa contributed to Al-Nassr’s victories in the Saudi Pro League and Saudi Super Cup during his two seasons in the Middle East.
Al-Nassr was ordered to pay these add-ons to Leicester by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), but the Saudi team has not yet done so. As a result, FIFA is said to have prohibited Cristiano Ronaldo’s club team from signing any new players for the time being.
Jacobs wrote on Twitter: “Al-Nassr was prohibited from registering since it did not follow the ruling. According to sources, it will be lifted in a few weeks as long as Al-Nassr makes the payment promptly, which they have promised to do.
This problem existed before PIF took management of Al-Nassr. PIF insiders emphasize that the new structure will make sure that issues like these and punishments don’t arise again. In the past, similar situations have been a major problem for the Saudi Pro League.

The most well-known player from Europe to join David Ospina and Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr is midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, a former Inter Milan and Croatian international.
Just before the most recent FIFA judgement, Brozovic, who cost £15.35m, registered as an Al-Nassr player. William Carvalho of Real Betis and Saul Niguez of Atletico Madrid are both linked, although they would need to wait until Al-Nassr complied with the CAS verdict.
