UPDATE: According to a report, Arsenal is plotting a shocking double swoop for ANOTHER set of Manchester City players.

Could Arsenal be set to do something similar again after acquiring Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from their Premier League rivals last summer?

After their successful additions of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko last season, Arsenal is chasing two Manchester City players once more during this transfer window.

Before taking charge at the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta served under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City from 2016 to 2019. The Spaniard now aims to strengthen his Arsenal team even more in preparation for the 2023–24 season.

The Gunners have already signed Kai Havertz this summer, and they will soon make announcements about Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber. But Arteta isn’t willing to sit back and enjoy his success; he plans to go back to Manchester City and demand two more players.

Kyle Walker

According to the Catalan publication El Nacional, Arsenal wants to sign both Kyle Walker and Julian Alvarez for a total of €76 million.

Given that Walker, 33, only has one year left on his current contract and that he has been frequently linked with a move to Bayern Munich, the alternative seems viable. However, he did spend eight years with Tottenham Hotspur, which might make any deal more difficult from his perspective.

Walker is listed in the article as costing €16 million, although Transfermarkt values him at €13 million.

Walker clawed his way back into the Manchester City first squad in time to help them win their historic triple, but after failing to start the Champions League final, he may be open to leaving the Etihad.

Erling Haaland starting ahead of Alvarez has reduced Alvarez’s playing time for City, and El Nacional reports that the team is open to trade proposals. According to the report, Arsenal wants to negotiate a trade closer to €60m despite being valued at €80m by Guardiola’s team.

Julian Alvarez

In his first season in England, Alvarez, who started as Argentina’s No. 9 in their World Cup victory, managed 16 goals in 48 games across all leagues, despite spending a huge majority of his time on the bench.
