BREAKING: Agent “jets in for talks” and Jürgen Klopp “leads race” for $64 million star, according to Liverpool transfer news.

Liverpool is reportedly leading the chase for a $64 million midfielder, and the representative of a Juventus player is scheduled to meet with three Premier League clubs.

Liverpool has already set the pace for the summer transfer market as it picks up speed. Liverpool has already had success, and there will be more.

Dominik Szoboszlai joined the Reds from RB Leipzig earlier this week, signing a five-year contract at Anfield. The Reds had already added Alexis Mac Allister to their roster before the transfer window had even opened.

But Jürgen Klopp still has a lot of work to do because he is aware that some of his team’s weaknesses need to be addressed. Although a third midfield addition is not necessarily out of the question, the defense is most likely to be his next area of focus.

And in order to achieve that, Roméo Lavia remains a top target for the Reds, despite conflicting reports on the club’s current perception of the 19-year-old.

But it’s not just defenders and midfielders who are being mentioned; according to Italian news reports, Liverpool may also be interested in a Juventus player who might serve as Mohamed Salah’s backup.

Here is Getjustsoccer.sport.blog’s assessment on the rumors surrounding the Reds’ pending transfers, starting with the most recent information on Lavia.

Roméo Lavia (Southampton)

According to Dean Jones of GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool is the ‘frontrunner’ to recruit Southampton’s Roméo Lavia.

Romeo Lavia

According to the article, while Chelsea and Arsenal have also been mentioned, the Reds are largely believed to be in the lead in the competition for the midfielder. That’s in spite of reports in The Telegraph and The Athletic that Liverpool won’t buy a new midfielder unless one of their present choices goes and Lavia’s $64 million (£50 million/€59 million) asking price is “too prohibitive” for the Reds to consider making a bid.

The decision to travel with Lavia is still up in the air, according to Getjustsoccer.sport.blog. The conflicting reports suggest that adding another midfielder is not currently a top priority.

That doesn’t necessarily mean Liverpool has lost interest in Lavia, and if the Reds aren’t sold on his asking price, it’s likely they won’t be the only ones. Though

that can add up for a lower charge.

Federico Chiesa (Juventus)

The representatives of Federico Chiesa apparently came to England to meet with three Premier League teams, with Liverpool reportedly one of them, according to Corriere dello Sport (print issue, which can be viewed here via Paisley Gates).

The Italian media outlet asserts that Chiesa might soon get “important” updates regarding his future, with Chelsea and Newcastle also reportedly interested. If a price of $65 million (£51 million/€60 million) is received, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is rumored to only contemplate offloading the attacker.

The move of Chiesa this summer appears likely, although Getjustsoccer.sport.blog would be shocked if it were to go to the Reds. It wouldn’t make much sense for the Reds to sign another injury-prone player, especially for a position that is not a top priority for Jürgen Klopp, after offloading two this summer.
